The Bouie River Valor Bridge Foundation

Camp Valor

A Letter to Our Prospective Partners

Dear Friend of Americas Veterans,
The Bouie River Valor Bridge Foundation is building Camp Valor in Covington County, Mississippi - a peaceful Outdoor retreat created to serve combat veterans living with post-traumatic stress and to welcome their families alongside them.
Our vision is simple: give veterans a place where they can step away from the pressures of everyday life, reconnect with family and fellow veterans, spend time outdoors, and know that their community has not forgotten the price they paid in service to our country.
Camp Valor is being developed along the Bouie River and includes a small oxbow island. Plans call for cabins, bathhouses, an intake/welcome facility, staff space, trails. utilities, improved road access, and a walking bridge. Activities are expected to include fishing, kayaking, canoeing. camping. wildlife watching, swimming, boating, and time on nature trails.
The Foundation's goal is to make week-long stays available to veterans and their families at no charge, with a long-term target capacity of approximately 600 veterans each year as the property and facilities are completed.
This is a community-built mission. We are asking individuals, companies, contractors, civic organizations, foundations, and friends of veterans to help us turn the Camp Valor plan into a lasting place of welcome.
Whether your support is financial, material, professional, or volunteer-based, you can help build something that says clearly to our veterans: You stood for us. Now we will stand for you.
With gratitude,
The Leadership and Board
The Bouie River Valor Bridge Foundation

Our Mission

To provide free, restorative outdoor retreat experiences for combat veterans living with PTSD and their families, while strengthening connection, dignity, hope, and community support.

Why Camp Valor

Military service can continue to carry a cost long after a veteran comes home. Camp Valor is being designed as a welcoming, non-clinical retreat environment where veterans and their families can slow down, spend meaningful time together, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with people who respect their service
